Presentation review procedure for participant(s) with poster paper(s)

Types   of resources   we require     to be prepared   and   submitted     to us   for   considerations   as   poster paper may   not   be the same for   all   events. For   each event, at the     event   notification/registration document/ web pages, we will explicitly   state   the   type of resource that   poster paper   presenters   should   prepare. For each event, poster paper presenters   that     prepared   their   papers   under   different   category   other than the   one we   specified,   or   whose   papers   was   prepared   not   in accordance   with   recommended   standards,   will     have   their   papers ignored.

We will only   forward   resource   submitted   by resource   persons   to   our   external resource   reviewers for     review   only after   resource   presenters   have   paid the appropriate   registrations   fees     and   register accordingly. Papers   submitted   to us   by resource   presenters   without   payments   and   registrations will be   ignored. Moreover,   once   we   have   forwarded   any   resource to   the   external resource reviewers,   it   is   not   possible     for the   same   author (s)   to get   full   refunds   for   the   registration fees   paid   should   he/she/they   decide   to   cancel   his/her/their   registration    irrespective   of whether   the     paper was   accepted     or   rejected   by     our   external resource   reviewers.

It   should be reiterated   that   for   all   poster papers   submitted   to us     for   considerations   to be presented   at   any of   our events, decisions   as to whether   the   papers   will    be   accepted (with or without   need for amendment),     or   rejected     is   entirely   that   of our   competent   resource   reviewers   to   make.   We   engage     competent   external resource   persons   to     help     review       all     resources submitted   to us   by resource   persons   that   are meant   for   presentations   at   our events.

Nevertheless, irrespective   of   the   category   under which   participants   are   expected   to   prepare   their   poster   paper in,   for   most   events     we   will   require   poster paper presenters to   stand by their   displayed   poster papers   for   conversations   and   discussions   with    events     participants   at     break times,   lunch times   and/or poster   sessions.   In general, participants   with   poster paper   to   present     may   fall   under one   of   the   following   categories:

  1. Under this category each poster paper presenter (s)   will be   expected   to prepare an Abstract, Microsoft   word   document, power   point document, and a   printed   poster paper for   display. For   events   that   we   have   requested     resource   presenters   to  prepare and   submit   their   poster   papers under this category, we expect     each poster paper presenter to follow the following   guidelines     in   preparing   their   resources:

Abstract: Each poster   paper is   expected  to   have   an abstract     with   no   more than 250   words.   Abstract   should   be   prepared     as   a   Microsoft   word   document,     following   the   guidelines   we   gave   for     drafting   abstract (see   relevant sections   or web pages on our website).   Each   abstract   is   expected   to have   at   least   3   relevant   keywords;   up to 6   relevant   keywords     may     be   presented.

Microsoft   word   document: Poster   paper presenters under   this category   will be   expected to prepare   word   document     with   all relevant   sections     following   the   recommended     standards     for preparing   academic and research   papers (see   relevant sections   or web pages on our website). Except if   not   necessary   or applicable,   each   paper   is     expected   to have     sections   for   abstract,   introduction,   methodology (materials   and methods), results,   discussion   (or results   and   discussion), conclusions, acknowledgement, references, and appendices. For   all   poster papers, word   document to be prepared   (inclusive   of all sections)   should not   exceed   10 pages, and   should be prepared   following   the   general     guidelines   and instructions   we   gave   for   drafting   and   formatting     academic and   research   resources (see   relevant sections   or web pages on our website).

Power   point document: In general poster paper presenters will have   limited time   to make oral   presentations     compared   to participants     who   registered to   make     presentations   as   oral   presenters. This   applies     even   for   events where   it   states   that     poster paper presenters   are    eligible   to   make   oral   presentations. We recommend that   poster paper presenters   who   intend to   also   make   presentation   as   oral     presenters     for a few   minutes     should     prepare   their   presentations     such that   it   will   be     possible   to   make the   presentations   within   5-10   minutes; actual time   that   will   be   allowed per   presenter   will vary   from one event to the other.   Consequently,   presenters   under this category   are     requested to prepare   concise   presentations of their   presentations   using   power   point   format,   whilst at   the   same time   prepare   a more   detailed presentations based on   word   format.

Poster   paper presenters   under   this category   will be   expected to prepare   concise   power point     document     with   all relevant   sections     following   the   recommended     standards     for preparing   academic and research   papers (see   relevant sections   or web pages). For   all   poster papers, power point   document     to be prepared   inclusive   of all sections   should not   exceed   6   slides, and   should be prepared   following   the   general     guidelines   and instructions   we   gave   for   drafting   and   formatting     academic and   research   resources (see   relevant sections   or web pages).

Printed poster paper for display: Printed   poster paper should be prepared   using   a   single   slide   of power   point. This should be done   in accordance with recommended   standards   for   preparing   poster papers   for   academic   and research   presentations. We   may   not necessarily   need to   see the   poster paper   before     resource presenter (s)   print   and   display   at the   event.   However,   we   recommend   that authors   should   balance   written   text and   figures   and/or tables   in their   poster papers that are meant   to   be displayed. We   expect   each   poster paper to be prepared     with   font     styles,   text, figures   and   tables   that   are   clear   to read   by   viewers   standing   a  short distance   away from the displayed paper (see relevant sections   on   our   web site).

  1. Under this category each poster paper presenter (s)   will be   expected   to prepare an abstract, power   point document,   and   a printed   poster paper for   display.
